Horseshoe Online Casino Replaces WynnBet in Michigan

Horseshoe Online Casino has recently launched in Michigan, taking over the former operations of WynnBet. This transition includes a smooth migration process for WynnBet customers to transition their accounts to the new platform. Additionally, all former WynnBet customers who migrate their accounts will automatically be enrolled in Caesars Rewards program.

The acquisition of Wynn’s Michigan online gaming license by Caesars Entertainment was finalized in June, following an agreement made in February. This marks Caesars’ first online gaming offering under the Horseshoe brand in the state of Michigan.

Michigan allows for a total of 15 online gambling licenses, each of which must be affiliated with a tribe that operates a physical casino. Prior to the launch of Horseshoe Online Casino, Caesars already had an online gaming presence through its Caesars Palace site, in partnership with the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and their Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel.

Due to the limited availability of licenses in Michigan, Caesars was unable to establish the Horseshoe brand in the state. However, an opportunity arose when WynnBet expressed its intention to exit the US market. With approval from the state regulator, Caesars was able to acquire Wynn’s license and continue the partnership with the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians and the Kewadin Casino.

Following the transition, WynnBet has completely exited the US online casino market. The company had previously ceased operations in several states, including Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Indiana, Tennessee, New Jersey, West Virginia, and Virginia. WynnBet had sold its New York license to Penn Entertainment in February, leading to the launch of ESPN Bet in the state. It also made the decision to withdraw its online gaming offering from Massachusetts earlier in the year, leaving only its sports betting app operational in Nevada.

Overall, the launch of Horseshoe Online Casino in Michigan represents an important strategic move for Caesars Entertainment as it expands its online gaming presence under the Horseshoe brand. The transition from WynnBet to Horseshoe provides an opportunity for former WynnBet customers to continue their online gaming experience with enhanced benefits through the Caesars Rewards program.
