F.C. Cincinnati, Bengals Left Without Ohio Betting Partners

The landscape of sports betting partnerships in the US is changing rapidly, with challenger-brand operators facing tough competition and struggling to maintain their ties with major league franchises. The recent exits of Betfred and SuperBook from the Ohio market have left the Cincinnati Bengals and F.C. Cincinnati without sportsbook partners, signaling a shift in the industry.

Betfred was the official online sports betting partner of the Bengals, while SuperBook operated both online and retail services for F.C. Cincinnati. However, both companies have decided to pull out of Ohio, leaving the two franchises in a vulnerable position. Despite being licensed to offer sports betting until 2028, neither the Bengals nor F.C. Cincinnati have commented on their plans to fill the void left by their former partners.

The departure of Betfred and SuperBook has not only impacted the Bengals and F.C. Cincinnati but also other major league franchises in Ohio. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Columbus Crew have also been left without online sports betting options after their partners, Fubo and Tipico, exited the market. While the Cavaliers have found a new partner in Caesars Sportsbook for their retail operations, the Crew is still searching for a replacement since Tipico’s departure in June.

The Cincinnati Reds faced a similar situation when they lost their online sports betting partner, BetMGM. Despite BetMGM transferring its operations to MGM Northfield Park, they remain the Reds’ retail sports betting partner. The Reds have since partnered with Underdog Sports for their online operations, but the collaboration has yet to launch.

The uncertainty surrounding sports betting partnerships in Ohio raises questions about the future of the Bengals and F.C. Cincinnati’s gambling operations. Like their counterparts in other major league franchises, they may need to reassess their strategies and take their time in securing new deals. The evolving landscape of sports betting in the US highlights the challenges faced by challenger brands and major league franchises alike.
