Man Sues The Venetian Over PTSD From Scorpion Sting

A man has filed a lawsuit against The Venetian Resort Las Vegas after claiming he was stung by a scorpion while in bed, causing him physical and emotional distress. The incident occurred at the end of 2023 when the 62-year-old man, Michael Farchi, felt a sharp and painful sensation on his testicles, which he described as feeling like being stabbed by sharp glass or a knife.

Farchi discovered a scorpion on his underwear and immediately reported the incident to hotel staff. However, he alleges that they did not take him seriously and even laughed about the situation. Following the sting, Farchi sought medical treatment at both the Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas and the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

In his lawsuit, Farchi claims that The Venetian was aware of a scorpion infestation in the hotel, particularly after some construction work had taken place. He argues that it is the responsibility of the property to ensure that their rooms are clean and safe from any type of insects or creatures that could harm guests. Farchi is seeking damages for the suffering he has endured since the incident on December 26.

The incident has had a significant impact on Farchi’s life, affecting his sex life with his wife and leaving him with PTSD. He is determined to hold The Venetian accountable for the negligence that led to his painful and traumatic experience.
