Tropicana Las Vegas Is No More, Hotel Towers Demolished

The iconic Tropicana Las Vegas hotel towers were demolished in a spectacular fashion, leaving onlookers in awe of the event. The demolition company, Controlled Demolitions, Inc., used over a ton of explosives to bring down the Paradise and Club Towers in a controlled implosion. Before the towers were reduced to rubble, Fireworks by Grucci put on a dazzling show, including a drone light display that formed the Tropicana logo in the night sky.

The implosion of the Tropicana marked the end of an era for the legendary Las Vegas casino. The site of the former hotel will now be cleared to make way for the future home of the MLB’s Athletics franchise. After 67 years in Oakland, the team is making the move to Las Vegas, with stadium construction set to begin in 2025 and completion expected in time for the 2028 baseball season.

In the meantime, the Athletics will be playing their home games at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento. However, concerns have been raised about the suitability of the park for a major league club, as it only seats 10,000 fans and lacks many of the amenities found in a typical big-league stadium.

The implosion of the Tropicana Las Vegas marked the end of an era for the iconic casino, but also signaled the beginning of a new chapter for Las Vegas as it prepares to welcome a new MLB team to the city. The controlled demolition of the hotel towers was a bittersweet moment for many, as they watched a piece of Las Vegas history come crashing down in a cloud of dust and debris. The future development of the site will bring new opportunities and excitement to the city, as it transforms into the new home of the Athletics franchise.
