Two casino workers at the Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas were left in critical condition over the weekend following a violent incident. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reported that the attack occurred near West Charleston and the 215, the location of the resort.
According to reports, the suspect, identified as Shayne Sussman, 25, attacked the two Red Rock employees inside the resort around 1 am. Sussman was eventually shot by security after the alleged stabbing attack. The two employees sustained critical injuries and were rushed to the hospital along with Sussman.
Red Rock Resorts, the owner of the resort, issued a statement expressing their shock and concern over the incident. Vice President and General Manager Scott Nelson mentioned that the staff was deeply affected by the random act of violence but were thankful for the quick intervention by security that prevented a more tragic outcome. Nelson wished the injured employees a speedy recovery and announced that counseling services would be available for those in need.
The incident has resulted in Sussman facing charges of attempted murder and battery. The resort management reassured their employees of their support and unity during this difficult time, emphasizing their commitment to coming together as a family to overcome this challenge.
